2nd Anniversary of Biomedical and Genome Science Initiative (BGSi)
In order to commemorate the 2nd anniversary of the Biomedical and Genome Science Initiative (BGSi), the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK Unud), Prof. Dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes., was present as a participant in the 2nd anniversary of BGSi with the theme "Future Directions in Genomics: Setting the Agenda for the Next Decade" held at the Westin Hotel Jakarta, Indonesia. The main agenda of BGSi's 2-year celebration was a scientific session on the development of genomic research in the world, as well as the launch of the SATU DNA application included in the SATU SEHAT program. In the scientific session, Prof. Januartha together with the President Director of RSUP Prof IGNG Ngoerah, dr. I Wayan Sudana, M.Kes., and the Head of the Department of Dermatology and Venereology FK Unud, Dr. dr. I Gusti Nyoman Darmaputra, Sp.KK (K)., FINSDV, FAADV., presented the work of the RSUP Prof IGNG Ngoerah hub with the topic Pharmacogenomic in Psoriasis Management.
The Ministry of Health initiated the Biomedical and Genome Science Initiative (BGSi) in 2022 and provided support for the national genomics strategic plan and the Indonesia National Health Genebank. BGSi aims to improve services and support public health, promote vaccine innovation, diagnostics and precision medicine-based therapies by utilizing genomic data to customize medical treatment to patients thereby increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of care. FK Unud is one of the institutions that supports the BGSi program by focusing on the field of psoriasis.
