Maintaining Family Ties, Leadership and Academic Representatives Visit Elders of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University

As part of the 64th Anniversary celebrations of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT.Subsp.Onk.Ort.R(K)., along with the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning, Prof. Dr. I Made Ady Wirawan, MPH., Ph.D., the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Prof. Dr. dr. I Made Muliarta, S.Ked., M.Kes., accompanied by the Faculty's Dharma Wanita (Women's Association), representatives of the education staff, and student representatives visited the elders, namely Prof. Dr. dr. Putu Astawa, Sp.OT(K)., M.Kes., Dr. N. Wirya Duarsa, Sp.KK., and Prof. Dr. I Dewa Putu Widjana, DAP&E, Sp.ParK., Prof. Dr. dr. Ketut Suastika, SpPD-KEMD at his residence. (10/03/26)

Dr. N. Wirya Duarsa, Sp.KK, is one of the senior members of the medical faculty and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, from 1982 to 1989. During his service, he also contributed to the establishment of the Dermatology and Venereology Specialist Study Program, currently known as the Dermatology and Venereology Specialist Study Program, at Udayana University, in 1971, together with Prof. Dr. Ibeni Ilias, Head of the Dermatology and Venereology Department at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University/Dr. Soetomo General Hospital, Surabaya.

About Prof. Dr. I Dewa Putu Widjana, DAP&E, Sp.ParK, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, from 2004 to 2008. During his tenure, he served as a professor in the field of parasitology at the Faculty. After retiring, he served as Rector of Warmadewa University from 2019 to 2023.

While still active, Prof. Dr. dr. Ketut Suastika, SpPD-KEMD, was a professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and served as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, from 2008 to 2012 and as Rector of Udayana University, from 2013 to 2017. After retiring, he served as Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Mahasaraswati University, Denpasar.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. dr. Putu Astawa, Sp.OT(K)., M.Kes., is a professor of Orthopedics and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, from 2013 to 2017.

On this occasion, Prof. Eka also invited the elders to attend the BKFK culminating event to maintain close ties and honor the contributions they have made during their time at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.

The visit was also attended by student representatives to provide insight into the elders who have contributed to the institution's development and strengthen intergenerational ties.

On this occasion, the elders expressed their gratitude for the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, for remembering and honoring the elders and professors who have contributed to the institution. They also advised the younger generation to always maintain and develop the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.

The event, which was filled with a warm, family-like atmosphere, concluded with a group photo.
