Udayana University Faculty of Medicine Sends Health and Medical Team to North Sumatra

Jimbaran – The Faculty of Medicine of Udayana University (FK Unud) once again played an active role in humanitarian efforts by sending a health and medical team to the disaster-affected area in Central Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra. The team's departure took place on the Jimbaran Campus and was led by the Rector of Udayana University, along with university leaders, accompanied by the Dean and Vice Dean I of FK Unud.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of Udayana University, Prof. Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT., Subsp.Onk.Ort. R (K), in his brief remarks stated that the team's rapid formation was a form of FK Unud's humanitarian response and concern for the community in the disaster area. He hoped that all team members would carry out their duties optimally, maintain health and safety, and return to Udayana University safely after completing their service mission.

The FK Unud health team consisted of Dinar Saurmauli Lubis, SKM, MPH, Ph.D., Bdn. The medical team included Dr. Putu Cynthia Devi Irmayanti, M.Biomed, and Luh Diah Parasuari (a student from the Faculty of Public Health). Meanwhile, the medical team included Dr. Putu Aryani, S.Ked., MIH., Sp.KKLP., Sub.Sp.COPC, Dr. Desak Putu Rendang Indriyani, Sp.A, Dr. I Putu Ardinata (Surgical Resident), Dr. Kristian Gerry Raymond Sinarta Bangun (Neurosurgery Resident), and Dr. Gede Agung Setya Wibawa (Internal Medicine Resident).

This activity also involved students from the Janar Duta Medical Assistance Team (TBM), namely Ni Nyoman Gayatri Virananda and Faruq Ghani Alamsyah, as a demonstration of the active involvement of Udayana University Faculty of Medicine students in community service activities.

The team leader, Dinar Saurmauli Lubis, SKM, MPH, Ph.D., stated that the Udayana University Faculty of Medicine team had coordinated with the Faculty of Medicine of the University of North Sumatra and related agencies, with the assigned location in Tukka District, Central Tapanuli Regency. The team will provide basic health services, reproductive health services, and public health education until December 27, 2025.

Through this activity, Udayana University Faculty of Medicine affirmed its commitment to community service and the tangible contribution of medical educational institutions in supporting health services in disaster-affected areas.
