Today's Guest Lecture invited Prof. Anthony K. Brandt, Ph.D, from Rice University and Prof. Jose Luis Contreras-Vidal, Ph.D, from the University of Houston. On this occasion, it was explained that neuroscience, music, and dance have a complex and interesting relationship, especially when considering brain wave activity. Prof. Anthony also presented previous research on diabelli 200 which explained the relationship between the use of classical music and cognitive function in the brain. Another interesting point that was also presented was about how mobile neuroimaging works that assesses brain waves when a pianist plays music.
Research is still being conducted on various elements of music such as melody, rhythm and harmony, to find their relationship to emotional and cognitive processes in the brain.
