History
The Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK UNUD), together with the Faculty of Literature and Culture, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry, and the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education were the forerunners of the establishment of Udayana University on August 17, 1962 based on the Decree of the Minister of Higher Education and Science (PTIK) Number 104 of 1962 on August 9, 1962.
FK UNUD is the first Medical School in Bali, which was established at August 9th, 1962. FK UNUD, at early time only conducted medical doctor education program that graduate general practitioners. Currently, FK UNUD has 6 undergraduate programs (Bachelor degree), 4 profession programs, 20 residency programs, 3 master programs, and 1 doctoral program. Among these programs, 55.9% are accredited “Excellent”, 41.2% are accredited “Very good” and the remaining are accredited “Good” based on the Indonesian Accreditation Agency for Higher Education in Health (IAAHEH). In the present academic year, the number of active students is approximately 5.075 coming from various regions in Indonesia and abroad. As a Faculty of Medicine located in Bali which is a world tourist destination, Faculty of Medicine has the Travel Medicine excellence implemented in the University Three Main Services (Tridharma PT).
