Seminar Bali Neuroendocrine Tumor Congress

Saturday, April 13, 2019, the Digestive Surgery Division of the Udayana Faculty of Medicine / Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar in collaboration with Novartis held a BALI NET CONGRESS seminar with the theme "Getting Familiar with Neuroendocrine Tumors" which was held at the HARRIS Sunset Road hotel, Denpasar, Bali.

The seminar was started with a speech delivered by the Chairperson of the Bali-Nusra IKBDI branch, dr. IB Darma Putra, Sp.B-KBD and continued with remarks by the Chairperson of the Bali NET Congress Seminar, dr. I Made Mulyawan, Sp.B-KBD. The presenters of the seminar material and the moderators of this seminar are the lecturers of the Digestive Surgery Division of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. Dr. dr. Ketut Sudartana, Sp.B-KBD as director of medical services at Sanglah General Hospital, also participated by being a moderator in one of the seminar sessions. The seminar participants who came were surgical specialists and surgical residents, most of whom were residents of the Udayana Faculty of Medicine's surgical study program.

In this seminar, all materials related to neuroendocrine tumors in surgical science were thoroughly discussed. In the first session, the presenters discussed the epidemiology of neuroendocrine tumors in Indonesia and in the world, the role of histopathological examination in cases of neuroendocrine tumors, and the role of surgeons and surgical management in cases of neuroendocrine tumors. In the second session, participants discussed how to treat systemic neuroendocrine tumors. The event then continued with the most interesting session, namely the discussion of case reports that had been found in the surgeon's practice. The case discussion led by dr. Made Agus Dwianthara Sueta, SpB-KBD runs interactively and attracts the attention of all seminar participants. The two-way discussion between the speaker and the seminar participants went very well and could be helpful in the day-to-day practice.

At the end of the event, the seminar participants and speakers took a group photo session and continued with lunch. By holding this seminar, participants can apply the knowledge gained in daily clinical practice, so that cases of Neuroendocrine Tumors can be handled comprehensively. This seminar is also expected to increase awareness and alertness for practitioners about the existence of this neuroendocrine tumor. ( MYF/UBI )
