“Interdisciplinary Approach on Healthy Aging”

The Dean of FK Unud attended the 2nd ASEAN Conference On Healthy Aging which was held at the Prime Plaza Hotel (Tuesday, 1 October 2019). Apart from him, also attending this event were the Unud Chancellor, the President Director of Sanglah Hospital, the President Director of the UNUD Hospital, and other important guests who cannot be mentioned one by one.

The Asean Conference on Healthy Aging (ACHA) is an annual event in which ASEAN countries take turns to host. The host for the second ASEAN Conference on Healthy Aging is Udayana University, Bali in collaboration with the Malaysia Healthy Aging Society (MHAS) and Respati Indonesia University, Jakarta. This conference was held at Prime Plaza, Bali – Indonesia on 1-2 October 2019.

The event starts on October 1, 2019, which coincides with World Elderly Day. This event was opened by Mr. Maliki, ST., MSIE., Ph.D. representing the Ministry of National Planning Agency accompanied by dr. Ketut Suarjaya, MPPM as Head of the Bali Provincial Health Office representing the Governor of Bali, and Prof. Dr. dr. AA Raka Sudewi, Sp.S (K) as Chancellor of Udayana University.

The main objective of this conference is to exchange knowledge and experience in approaches used in healthy aging in ASEAN and ASIA Pacific countries.

The participants of this conference consisted of representatives from several countries: Malaysia, Philippines, India, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia. The speakers brought various topics related to the elderly, ranging from aspects of health, law, economics, demography, humanity and other social sciences.

The holding of the second ACHA in Bali is an initiative for Udayana University to become a partner of the government in developing and improving programs and regulations for the elderly in Bali.

The event closed on October 2, 2019 by performing a dance of two generations, namely teenagers and the elderly and announcing the country that would host the following year.
