The Public Health Student Association of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Conducts a Community Service Program to Prevent Anemia in Carangsari Village, Petang, Badung
The Public Health Student Association (HMKM) of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held a community service program called Camping and Social Action (BERAKSI). This program, under the theme "Arogya Harmonia Karya," aims to increase public awareness and knowledge in anemia prevention and management. The BERAKSI community service program was held in Samuan Traditional Village, Carangsari Village, Petang District, Badung Regency. (July 8, 2025)
The BERAKSI program took place in four separate sessions: June 14 and 15, 2025, and culminating in a door-to-door outreach program on July 7 and 8, 2025. This activity involved active students and lecturers from the Undergraduate Program in Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (PSSKM FK Unud).
The event began with an opening ceremony attended by the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Public Health Study Program (PSSKM), Dr. Putu Ayu Swandewi Astuti, S.Ked., MPH., Ph.D.; the Community Service Advisor of the HMKM Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Luh Putu Sinthya Ulandari, S.KM., M.Kes.; the Head of Carangsari Village, I Made Sudana, S.AP.; the Principal of SD Negeri 2 Carangsari; Ni Nyoman Trisna Kusuma Dewi, S.Pd.; the Chairperson of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University or their representative; and the Chairperson of the HMKM Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
On this occasion, the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Public Health Study Program (PSSKM), Dr. Putu Ayu Swandewi Astuti, S.Ked., MPH., Ph.D., expressed her gratitude to the village government and community for the opportunity given to students to carry out community service activities in the village. He also expressed his hope that this activity would provide tangible benefits and a positive impact in improving public health, particularly in preventing anemia.
Furthermore, a certificate of cooperation was presented to SD Negeri 2 Carangsari and the Carangsari Village Government as a token of appreciation and gratitude for the support and acceptance of BERAKSI activities in the village.
The outreach activities were conducted directly through door-to-door visits to residents of Samuan Traditional Village, Carangsari Village, Petang District, Badung Regency. This activity was warmly welcomed and well-received by the village community. The support from the village government has demonstrated a positive synergy between educational institutions and the community in improving public health, particularly in anemia prevention efforts.
