5th Udayana Andrology Update (UAU)

The whole world is struggling with the COVID-19 pandemic with many aspects of life being affected. Several studies have reported the presence of hypogonadism in male patients with COVID-19 and affecting general health conditions. However, scientific information is still very limited, so a scientific forum is needed to share related insights.

For this reason, the Department of Andrology and Sexology, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK UNUD) held the 5th Udayana Andrology Update (UAU) Webinar with the topic "Testosterone in Multi Aspect of Life" online using the Webex application.

This activity was opened directly by the Dean of FK UNUD, Dr. dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes. Specifically in his speech, the Dean advised to continue to be passionate about educating and providing correct medical knowledge to colleagues and the general public, especially in the fields of Andrology and Sexology. At the end, he hopes that UAU can continue to take place in the future.

This time, UAU presented two resource persons who were qualified in their fields. Starting from dr. Johannes Soedjono, M.Kes, Sp.And(K) who presented the “Testosterone and Immune System. Followed by Professor of the Department of Andrology and Sexology FK UNUD Prof. Dr. dr. Wimpie Pangkahila, Sp.And(K) who discussed "Testosterone in Post Covid-19 Patient".

The Head of the 5th UAU Committee as well as the Head of the Department of Andrology and Sexology of FK UNUD, dr. I Gusti Ngurah Pramesemara, S.Ked, M.Biomed, Sp.And conveyed that the online seminar was attended by doctors, pharmacists, lecturers, journalists, practitioners or health observers, S2 and S1 students, and the general public.

A total of 313 participants have attended and participated, listening throughout the event, and actively discussing.

Hopefully this educational effort can continue and be useful in the practice of everyday life.
