Vision Mission

The vision, mission, objectives, and strategies (VMTS) of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, refer to the university's VMTS, and their development has involved internal and external stakeholders.

Vision of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University

According to the Decree of the Chancellor of Udayana University, signed by the Dean on behalf of the Chancellor, No. 946/UN14.2.2/HK/2025 concerning the Vision and Mission of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, the following is "To realize the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, as an Excellent, Independent, and Cultured Medical and Health Education Institution, with International Competitiveness, Oriented towards Health Tourism by 2042."

1. Excellent: means having advantages in a specific field, namely health tourism, that are comparative, competitive, and innovative at the local, national, and international levels, contributing significantly to the development of science, technology, and the arts, as well as community development.

2. Independent: means possessing leadership and entrepreneurial skills in optimally managing resources to produce innovations that benefit the development of science and the welfare of humanity, especially in the health sector.

3. Cultured: means upholding an academic culture based on the noble values ??of Pancasila and universal local wisdom for interacting in society, prioritizing honesty and harmony between thoughts, words, and good deeds (Tri Kaya Parisuda).

Mission of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University

To realize the above vision, the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, has the following mission:

"Empowering the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, as a Medical and Health Education Institution that Implements the Tridharma of Higher Education with an Orientation towards Health Tourism Based on the Development of Science and Technology, Cultural Values, and Local Wisdom."

This mission can be detailed based on the elaboration of the Tridharma of Higher Education as follows:

1. Providing quality health education and producing graduates with high morals, ethics, integrity, and competence in accordance with the demands of local, national, and international communities, especially in the field of health tourism.

2. Developing research and community service in accordance with the interests of society and the nation, particularly those supporting the health tourism sector.

3. Empowering the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, as an institution that produces and develops knowledge, technology, culture, and local wisdom that can be utilized for the welfare of society.

4. Producing innovative and prospective works for the advancement of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, and the public health standard.

5. Building and developing collaborations with national and international partners in the field of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

Goals and Targets of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University

In accordance with the established vision and mission, the goals and targets of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University's 2025-2029 strategic plan are outlined as follows:

9. [S.2.2] Revitalization of the campus master plan as a "smart and green campus," including a healthy campus and a smoke-free area.

10. [S.2.3] Implementation of a planning management system, from cascading IKU (Information on Business Activities), Renstra (Renstra), to RAKT (National Strategy for Strategic Planning), complete with implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.

Udayana University's Educational Philosophy

The Faculty of Medicine's educational philosophy aligns with Udayana University's educational philosophy of "Taki Takining Sewaka Guna Widya," which means that in seeking knowledge, one must pursue knowledge and virtue. In implementing this educational philosophy, the Faculty of Medicine implements learning strategies that prioritize student-centered learning, collaborative learning with projects (Project-based learning), problem-based learning, prioritizing student experience in relevant cases (Experiential learning), evidence-based learning, case-based learning, and Balinese local culture (Culture-based). These strategies are abbreviated as SPPEECC.

Unud’s symbol named Widya Cakra Prawartana which means the wheels of science is based on Pancasila. The meaning of the symbols are:

1. Having a shape of a circle having a wheel disc, in the middle there is a Padma (lotus) with eight leaves which symbolize the eight winds points, which symbolizes the sanctity of God Almighty which is the first principle of Pancasila.

2. The wheel disc has four trellis symbolizing the steel-like strength of four Pancasila principles.

3. The outside of the radius of the circle wheel adorned with 54 (fifty-four) points as Ratna Permata in accordance with the sequence of science which are given by Udayana University.

4. The symbol’s color is golden yellow with a blue base color. Golden yellow color symbolizes the sun rise and blue color symbolizes the sky.

This thinking is very relevant to the concept of life-long learning because knowledge is always spinning and there is a novelty.
