A Form of Concern for the Community, FK Unud Provides Basic Life Support Simulation Education and Physical Exercise Before Starting Work for Fishermen in Suana Village, Nusa Penida, Bali


As a form of concern and support for fishermen, the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University through the Research and Community Service Unit (UP2M) organized community service in Suana Village, Nusa Penida, Bali. (9/8/2024)


Attended by 30 fishermen from the local village, on this occasion, FK Unud provided education about basic life support simulations and physical exercise before starting work, counseling and free health services, as well as donations in the form of basic necessities for fishermen.


The event began with an opening held at SDN 4 Suana, Nusa Penida by the Village Secretary, Made Sudra and remarks from the Coordinator of the Research and Community Service Unit (UP2M), Dr. Agus Eka Darwinata, S.Ked., Ph.D,. After the opening, the event continued with basic life support simulation education presented by Ns. I Kadek Saputra, S.Kep., M.Erg., and physical exercise before starting work presented by Govinda Vittala, S.Ft., Ftr., M.Fis.


On this occasion, Mr. Sudra expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the activities organized by FK Unud, his hope that this activity can continue in the future and benefit the community around Suana Village, especially fishermen.


Dr. Darwin in his speech also expressed his gratitude and hoped that the education provided later could increase the knowledge and awareness of fishermen of the importance of the ability to provide basic life support and physical exercise before starting work.


This community service was also attended by the Coordinator of the Biomedical Science Master Study Program, the Coordinator of the Bachelor of Medicine Study Program, the Coordinator of the Clinical Microbiology Specialist Study Program, the Coordinator of the Computer Based Test (CBT) Unit, the Coordinator of the Information and Cooperation Management Unit (UPIKS), the Coordinator of the Development, Learning and Quality Assurance Unit (UP3M), lecturers and education staff of FK Unud who participated in providing health services and distributing basic necessities to fishermen.
