BATIK-2 2021

The Department of Psychiatry at Udayana University routinely organizes a national seminar on the latest Bali Psychiatry (BATIK) every year. The Latest Bali Psychiatry 2021 raises the topic of stigma which is still a complicate in cases of mental disorders. The importance of eliminating stigma for the success of mental health programs has prompted BATIK 2021 to adopt "Take the Stigma Away from mental health, A vision hope" as the theme this year. Through this national seminar, it is hoped that mental health practitioners will gain new knowledge and skills to deal with the effects of stigma on mental health programs comprehensively.

This national seminar started with a report from the chairman of the committee which was delivered by dr. Luh Nyoman Alit Aryani, SpKJ (K), remarks by the Director of Sanglah Hospital, dr. I Wayan Sudana, M Kes, is also pleased to give a speech with the hope that the participants of the BATIK-2 online seminar will get a lot of additional knowledge regarding stigma in people with mental disorders. The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Dr.dr. I Ketut Suyasa, SpB, SpOT, in his speech hoped that the BATIK-2 online seminar could be a forum for scientific discussion and transfer of knowledge in handling people with mental disorders. The Chancellor of Udayana University, Prof.Dr.dr. AA Raka Sudewi, SpS (K), is pleased to give a speech as well as open the event, in his speech he hopes that this online national seminar can provide new hope for psychiatric specialists, general practitioners and mental health activists to fight stigma.

This seminar will last for 4 days starting on 15-18 July 2021 by presenting 65 speakers both from within the country and abroad, from mental health practitioners and from the government. It was an honor at this seminar, the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection – I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati, SE, M.Si was also a speaker. This illustrates the government's support for mental health programs.

This seminar was also attended by 344 participants consisting of general practitioners and psychiatrists from all over Indonesia. At this national seminar, scientific presentation competitions, both poster and oral presentations and the Udayana Research Award were also held which were attended by 82 participants from various specialist study programs throughout Indonesia.
