Clinical Pathology Guest Lecture "Flow Cytometry in Infection"



The Clinical Pathology Specialist Study Program, FK Udayana University, held a Guest Lecture with the theme "Flowcytometry in Infection" in a hybrid manner with the main location point in Prof.'s room. dr. I G N G Ngoerah, Faculty of Medicine Building, Denpasar. (18/02/2023)


This event presented guest lecturers from the National University of Singapore, Dr. Paul Hutchinson, Ph.D, who discussed "Flowcytometry Applications in Infectious Disease".

The purpose of holding this guest lecture is to increase knowledge and understanding regarding the use of flowcytometry examinations in infectious diseases, where the participants who attended this event came from among the lecturers, students of the Clinical Pathology Specialist Study Program, alumni and members of the Association of Clinical Pathology Specialists and Laboratory Medicine.


The event began with remarks from the Coordinator of the Clinical Pathology Specialist Study Program; Dr. dr. Sianny Herawati, S.Ked., Sp.PK(K)., Head of the Clinical Pathology Department; Dr. dr. Ni Kadek Mulyantari, Sp.PK(K) and was officially opened with remarks by the Deputy Dean for Academic and Planning, Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT (K), who in his remarks said that clinical pathology plays an important role by being a mandatory medical support in hospitals and clinical pathology is also experiencing very rapid development so that academics must have knowledge of understanding updated.

 

"Our hope in the future is that this guest lecture activity will become a continuous activity and can provide knowledge, new research ideas so that later they can be applied in patient care, especially in the field of laboratory medicine," he said.


After it was opened, the event continued with presentations by resource persons which were continued with discussion sessions.
