Collaboration of FK Unud and PERDOSKI Denpasar "ACT NOW END LEPROSY"
The Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University through the Undergraduate Medical Study Program collaborated with the Denpasar Branch of the Association of Indonesian Dermatologists and Venereologists (PERDOSKI) to provide health education in order to celebrate World Leprosy Day 2023 with the theme "ACT NOW END LEPROSY" in dr. AA Made Djelantik, FK-Denpasar Building. (28/2/2023)
The purpose of this activity is to reopen the awareness of prospective health workers throughout Indonesia regarding leprosy because they will later become the spearhead of Indonesian health services in detecting leprosy in the community.
Moderated by Dr. Ni Putu Ayu Saraswati Apsari, Sp. KK., the health education which was attended by 100 participants from among the students presented 2 speakers who were competent in their fields, namely dr. A A Lakshmi Dewi Budiani, Sp. KK and dr. Ni Wayan Eka Ciptasari, Sp. KK.
In his remarks, the Coordinator of the Undergraduate Medical Study Program, FK Unud, dr. I Wayan Sumardika, M.Med.Ed., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for holding this event and underlined that the competency standard for Indonesian doctors regarding leprosy/morbus hansen is competency 4a which must be mastered by general practitioners.
"Students who will graduate as first-line doctors will work together to reduce the number of leprosy/hansen morbus in Indonesia. It should also be noted that the competency standard for Indonesian leprosy doctors/morbus hansen is competency 4a which must be mastered by general practitioners." he said.
This event was also attended by PERDOSKI PC Denpasar representatives; dr. Ari Kayika Silayukti, Sp.KK., person in charge of undergraduate education; dr. I Gde Haryo Ganesha, S.Ked., M.Biomed.) and the team of lecturers managing the Bachelor of Medicine Study Program.
