As part of the environmentally friendly lifestyle campaign, participants were also encouraged to bring their own tumblers to reduce the use of single-use plastic waste. World No Tobacco Day culminated in the breaking of cigarette and vape ornaments as a symbol of Denpasar City and its community's firm rejection of industry tactics and nicotine addiction and its side effects.

In his remarks, the Regional Secretary of Denpasar City, Ir. He stated that the Denpasar Sehat Tanpa Asap Cigarettes (DESTAR) program is one of the Denpasar City Government's strategic steps to improve public health through strengthening smoke-free areas and ongoing health education. The Denpasar City Government also firmly supports tobacco control programs and strengthening Smoke-Free Areas in Denpasar City to protect the community and future generations from the dangers of cigarette smoke, thereby creating a healthy and productive environment. "This effort certainly requires the support of all elements of society so that a healthy lifestyle can grow and become part of everyday life. This can certainly be achieved through collaboration with regional government agencies (OPD), NGOs, and academics, as has been established with Udayana CENTRAL," he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of Udayana CENTRAL, Dr. Putu Ayu Swandewi Astuti, MPH, Ph.D., explained that the Smoke-Free Fun Walk is not only a joint exercise activity but also a means of public education about the impact of tobacco consumption on health.
According to her, healthy living campaigns need to be packaged positively and involve broad community participation so that health messages can be received more effectively, especially by the younger generation. Dr. Ayu also said, "We want to encourage the public to take small steps towards a healthy life through physical activity, a smoke-free environment, and increasing awareness of the dangers of tobacco." "This kind of collaboration is expected to strengthen promotional and preventive initiatives in the community," he said.
Through the Smoke-Free Fun Walk HTTS 2026, the Denpasar City Government, in collaboration with Udayana University, hopes that the momentum of World No Tobacco Day will further strengthen public awareness of adopting a healthy lifestyle, avoiding cigarette consumption, and supporting the realization of Denpasar as a healthy, smoke-free city.
