Elderly Education Clinic Microbiology Alumni Association About Zoonoses and Antibiotic Use

Udayana University Clinical Microbiology Alumni Association together with the Clinical Microbiology Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University carried out community service activities on Tuesday, March 28 2023 in Sanding Village, Tampaksiring, Gianyar. This community service activity was attended by the elderly (elderly) group of Sanding Village. The activities carried out are counseling about zoonotic diseases and the use of wise antibiotics among the elderly and distribution of staples to poor rural communities.


The event began with an introduction from the Representative of the Udayana University Clinical Microbiology Alumni Association who was also the speaker at this activity, namely dr. Kadek Suryawan, M.Kes., Sp.MK who explained the purpose of this activity. The next remarks were from the Coordinator of the Clinical Microbiology Study Program, FK UNUD, dr. Ni Nengah Dwi Fatmawati, S.Ked., Sp.MK (K), PhD who gave a glimpse of the study program and the implementation of community service activities. This activity was officially opened by the Head of Sanding Village, Mr. Kompyang Ambarayusa.


The lecture was delivered by dr. Kadek Suryawan, M.Kes., Sp.MK. with the topic of prevention of diseases that are transmitted zoonoses and knowledge in the wise use of antibiotics as a form of alumni's concern for community groups, especially the elderly towards healthy and happy elderly. The participants listened carefully and discussed enthusiastically. At the end of the event, a symbolic handover of staple food assistance to the underprivileged was carried out and a plaque was given to the Head of Sanding Village as a memento and a form of appreciation from the Alumni Association and Clinical Microbiology Specialist Study Program.


Through this community service activity, the Clinical Microbiology Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University seeks to strengthen relations with the Udayana University Clinical Microbiology Alumni Association so that they are able to work together and work together in overcoming problems that occur in society, especially in the field of Clinical Microbiology.
