Improving Competence in Handling Borderline Personality Disorders and Bipolar in Adolescents, FK Unud Presents Speakers from Undip and UGM
The Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK Unud) through the Psychiatry Specialist Study Program is committed to continuing to develop the competence and skills of psychiatrists and students (residents). The main goal is to provide optimal service to patients and the wider community, in line with the development of psychiatry and the need for mental health services in Indonesia. Supporting this goal, the Psychiatry Specialist Study Program, FK Unud is proud to hold a Guest Lecture activity which will last for two days, namely on September 12 and 13, 2024. This activity is part of an ongoing effort to improve the competence and skills of psychiatrists, residents, and mental health practitioners.
Officially opened by the Vice Dean for Academic and Planning, FK Unud, Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT(K)., this event was held in a hybrid manner with the main location in the dr. Meeting Room. I Gusti Putu Panteri, Sp.K.J(K)., so that it can be followed by participants online or offline. Enthusiasm can be seen from the activeness of participants who attended offline and joined online in discussing the topics discussed. This event provides a valuable opportunity for participants to broaden their horizons and share experiences regarding the challenges in treating patients with mental disorders.
The first day, Thursday, September 12, 2024, presented resource person Dr. dr. Natalia Dewi Wardani, Sp.KJ from the Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University, who presented the topic "Supportive Psychotherapy for Borderline Personality Disorder", moderated by dr. I Gusti Agung Ayu Widyarini, Sp.KJ. In this session, participants gained in-depth insight into the supportive psychotherapy approach to patients with borderline personality disorder who require special treatment techniques.
The second day, Friday, September 13, 2024, presentation of material by Dr. dr. Budi Pratiti, Sp.KJ from the Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Gadjah Mada, who discussed the topic "Diving into the World of Bipolar in Adolescents by Accompanying Their Journey of Suffering". This session was moderated by dr. Anak Agung Ngurah Andika Damarnegara, Sp.KJ. This discussion highlights a holistic approach in accompanying adolescents with bipolar disorder, with a focus on the clinical journey and the role of caregivers needed to improve the patient's quality of life.
