Improving Competency in Handling Veins, FK Unud Invites Professors from Ferara University, Italy

The Surgical Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University held a hybrid Visiting Professor with the topic "Vein Surgery and Care: Global & (v-w) Indonesia Insight" with the main location in the Prof. Dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah Room, Faculty Building Udayana University Medicine, Denpasar (1/4/2024)

Followed by lecturers, students (residents) and undergraduate students who attended online and offline, this guest lecture presented resource person Prof. Sergio Gianesini, MD., Ph.D., FACS., who is a professor at the University of Ferara Italy. This guest lecture was held to increase understanding of how to care for veins, prevent and treat diseases that occur in veins.

This event was opened by the Dean of FK Unud, Prof. Dr. Dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes, who in his speech expressed his thanks to Prof. Sergio for sharing his knowledge and experience in the field of vascular surgery.

"We must follow and implement advances in science and technology in the field of vascular surgery so that we can provide complete and comprehensive services." he said.

Apart from the Dean, this visiting lecture event was also attended online by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Budi Gunadi Sadikin, S.Sc., CHFC, CLU., and Main Director of IGNG Ngoerah Hospital Dr. I Wayan Sudana, M. Kes. Those present offline included the Chair of the Department of Surgery and the Coordinator of the Surgical Specialist Study Program, FK Unud.

After giving a presentation in the lecture session, Prof. Sergio together with the entire committee from the FK Unud Surgical Specialist Study Program continued activities with health service events for the community at the Bali State Polytechnic, Benoa Village Head Office and 4 Community Health Centers in celebration of Vein Week Indonesia 2024.
