Increase International Recognition, BEM FK Unud Organizes Udayana International Medical Summer School 2024

Udayana University Faculty of Medicine Student Executive Board (BEM FK Unud), Department of External Relations, this year again held the Udayana International Medical Summer School (UIMSS) in the range of August 2, 2024 to August 11, 2024 offline.

This international student exchange program was attended by 34 participants who were health science students from Japan, Vietnam and Indonesia. With the theme "Immerse Yourself into the Vibrant Landscape of Travel Medicine and Balinese Culture at Udayana International Medical Summer School," this program is expected to be able to introduce and expand FK Unud relations, as well as introduce the health care system to culture in Bali.

This program has been officially opened directly at the Welcoming Party UIMSS 2024 on Thursday, August 2, 2024 in the Ballroom Hotel Neo Denpasar by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Information FK Unud, Prof. dr. I Md. Ady Wirawan, MPH, Ph.D., and also attended by other invitees, namely the coordinators of undergraduate study programs, heads of student associations, LMFK, BSO representatives, professors from the International University of Health and Welfare (IUHW), namely Professor Akiko Kato and Professor Takeki Ishida, and the entire UIMSS 2024 committee.

The series of events were filled with remarks from the chairman of the committee, remarks from invitees, opening dance, FK Unud profile video performance, UIMSS 2024 introduction material, committee introductions, participant flower arrangement, acoustic band performance, and gala dinner.

The hope is that participants will be more familiar with the UIMSS program and be able to establish close relationships with fellow participants and committees. In addition, participants are expected to gain new insights into health sciences such as travel medicine, medical services, and Balinese culture, and bring this valuable experience to their respective countries as part of their professional and personal development.
