International Dental Summer Course 2024

In order to improve competence and cultural recognition in Indonesia, the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK Unud) through the Undergraduate Study Program of Dentistry and Dentist Profession (PSSKGPDG) in collaboration with the Faculty of Dentistry, Hasanuddin University Makassar (FKG Unhas) held an International Dental Summer Course 2024 with the theme "Discovering Eastern Indonesia". Held for 10 days (August 4-13, 2024), this activity will be held in two places namely Makassar (August 4-9, 2024) and Bali (August 10-13, 2024).

Overview of the International Dental Summer Course 2024, the program offers academic, cultural, and social activities to foster personal and academic growth. It is hoped that by participating in this program, participants will gain academic knowledge about dentistry, understand the culture and culture in Indonesia, and increase academic collaboration and relationships among participants.

The opening ceremony of the International Dental Summer Course 2024 on the first day in Bali was held in the Prof. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah room, FK Unud Building (12/8/2024). The event was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Information of FK Unud, Prof. dr. I Md. Ady Wirawan, MPH, Ph.D., who in his speech expressed his appreciation for the implementation of the first International Dental Summer Course 2024 and hoped that the participants could gain a lot of knowledge, experience and expand their academic relations. Prof. Ady also hopes that this activity can be a way to form other collaborations between FK Unud and FKG Unhas.

Followed by participants from Yemen, Japan and Indonesia, the first day of the event was filled with academic seminars inviting Sang Ayu Isnu Maharani, SS., M.Hum., as a guest speaker moderated by drg. Putri Rejeki, M.Kes. The topic presented at this seminar was "Metatah Ceremony in Bali".

In addition to the participants, the opening ceremony and seminar were also attended by the Chairperson of the Department of Dental and Oral Medicine, drg. Mia Ayustina Prasetya, Sp.KGA, Chairperson of the International Dental Summer Course 2024 Committee, drg. Sari Kusumadewi, M.Biomed, and representatives from FKG Unmas.
