International University of Health and Welfare (IUHW) School of Medicine Clinical Internship Program in IUHW Narita Hospital

From November 18 to December 13, 2024, the Faculty of Medicine of Udayana University (FK Unud) sent three students of the 2021 Undergraduate Medical Study Program, namely I Made Dwika Yudhayana Gunawisesa, Indyarwan Ananta Seno and Rosevelani Manasai Budihardjo to participate in the International University of Health and Welfare (IUHW) School of Medicine Clinical Internship program at IUHW Narita Hospital, Chiba Prefecture, Japan.

This program provides a valuable opportunity for FK Unud students to be involved in clinical internships with medical students at IUHW. These three students each had the opportunity to join 3 departments in the clinical internship they participated in, namely I Made Dwika Yudhayana Gunawisesa who underwent rotations in the departments of Gastroenterology, Cardiovascular Surgery, and Emergency Medicine.

Indyarwan Ananta Seno had the opportunity to undergo rotations in the Departments of Ophthalmology, Head and Neck Surgery, and Neurosurgery. Furthermore, Rosevelani Manasai Budihardjo participated in the Departments of Hematology, Dermatology, and Plastic Surgery.

The program is expected to be a transformative experience by expanding medical knowledge and clinical skills while offering exposure to different healthcare systems and educational cultures. Collaborating with IUHW medical students and faculty enriches the learning process, and the diverse case presentations across different departments provide valuable insight into specialized areas of medicine.
