Meeting Between the Nursing Department, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, and Ganesha University of Education to Strengthen the Implementation of the Nursing Professional Program
The Undergraduate Nursing and Nursing Professional Education Study Programs, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (Unud), received a benchmarking visit from the Nursing Professional Education Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Ganesha University of Education (Undiksha) on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. WITA. This activity was held to strengthen Undiksha's preparations for the implementation of the Nursing Professional Study Program, planned to begin in 2026.
The meeting was officially opened by Dr. Ns. Ni Ketut Guru Prapti, S.Kep., MNS, Coordinator of the Undergraduate Study Program and Nursing Professional Education Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. In her remarks, she conveyed the study program's commitment to sharing experiences related to best practices in professional implementation, including curriculum, internship management, and student guidance in the practice setting. Ns. Prapti expressed her appreciation for Undiksha's steps in preparing for the professional program and welcomed the ongoing academic collaboration that benefits the improvement of the quality of nursing education in Indonesia.
The event then continued with remarks from Ns. Shofi Khaqul Ilmy, S.Kep., M.Kep., Coordinator of the Undiksha Nursing Professional Education Study Program. She stated that this benchmarking activity was a strategic step to ensure Undiksha's academic and managerial readiness in opening the Nursing Professional Program, as well as to strengthen collaborative networks with experienced institutions that provide the professional program. The presentation session was by Ns. Gusti Ayu Ary Antari, S.Kep., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.MB., who explained the mechanism for implementing the Nursing Professional Program at Udayana University, including professional preparation, the internship flow, the KIA (Childhood and Adolescent Orientation) mechanism and specializations, and the strengthening of clinical skills. The discussion was interactive, particularly regarding the implementation of student interest surveys, the determination of academic preceptors, the mapping of specializations, and the strategy for implementing both KIA and specializations to be more structured and relevant to the targeted competencies. Through this dialogue session, participants discussed best practices in strengthening clinical learning and nursing professional governance.
Attendees included study program coordinators, faculty members, and educational staff from both institutions. From Udayana University, the meeting was attended by Dr. Ns. Ni Ketut Guru Prapti, S.Kep., MNS, Coordinator of the Undergraduate Study Program and the Nursing Professional Education Program. She was accompanied by lecturers Ns. Gusti Ayu Ary Antari, S.Kep., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.MB., Ns. Ni Komang Ari Sawitri, S.Kep., M.Sc., Ph.D., and Dr. Kadek Eka Swedarma, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kes., who actively participated in discussions regarding the curriculum, placements, and professional implementation mechanisms.
Meanwhile, a team from Ganesha University of Education, led by Ns. Shofi Khaqul Ilmy, S.Kep., M.Kep., Coordinator of the Nursing Professional Education Study Program. Also in attendance were lecturers, namely Ms. Ida Ayu Made Ari Santi Tisnasari, M.Kep., Sp.Kep.Onk., Ni Ketut Erawati, S.Kep., Ns., M.Pd., Made Juliani, S.ST., S.Kep., Ns., M.Pd., and Ms. Komang Noviantari, M.Kep., Sp.Kep.MB. From the educational staff, Ni Dwi Fefiyani Subawa, S.Pd., Head of General Affairs of the Faculty of Medicine, and Putu Tegeh, SE., from the Academic Division of the Faculty of Medicine, also supported the benchmarking activity.
The meeting concluded with an in-depth discussion, a question-and-answer session, and follow-up plans regarding potential future collaborations. This benchmarking activity is expected to be the starting point for stronger synergy between the two institutions in advancing nursing education and the nursing profession.
