This lecture aims to share the latest information related to the importance of biomarker examination in emergency patients focused on cases of acute coronary syndrome and acute heart failure.

On this good occasion, it was explained the importance of serial/repeated high sensitivity cardiac Troponin biomarker examinations in order to determine the extent of patient suspicion towards acute coronary syndrome. In addition, the decrease and increase in the biomarker value can distinguish between acute and chronic heart muscle damage. Repeated measurement of this biomarker also provides information on the prognosis of the disease in patients. On the other hand, the NT-proBNP biomarker is also important as a good predictor of mortality in patients with acute heart failure. This Guest Lecture activity was also attended directly by Professor of the Heart and Blood Vessel Specialist Study Program, FK Unud, Prof. Dr. dr. I Wayan Wita, Sp.JP, P.R.Kv.
