Public Health Student Association of Udayana University’s Faculty of Medicine Hosts Scientific Competition on Disease Prevention Strategies via Food Management and Nutritional Quality Improvement
The Miracle Public Health Competition (MPHC) 2026 is a national-level scientific competition organized by the Academic and Reasoning Division of the Public Health Student Association (HMKM) at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. The event centers on the theme "Disease Prevention Strategies through Food Management and Nutritional Quality Improvement to Enhance Public Health Standards." MPHC 2026 serves as a platform for Indonesian students—ranging from high school to university levels—to present ideas, innovations, and creative solutions addressing various public health challenges. The competition took place on July 29, 2026, in an in-person format, primarily hosted at the Faculty of Medicine building, Udayana University.
A total of 225 participants from various institutions across Indonesia took part in the Miracle Public Health Competition (MPHC) 2026, competing in five categories: Public Posters, Popular Scientific Essays (University Level), and Health Education Videos (University Level), as well as Popular Scientific Essays (High School Level) and Indonesian Language Debates (High School Level). Following a selection process, 86 finalists advanced to the final round. These finalists represented a diverse range of institutions, including Andalas University, Padjadjaran University, Gadjah Mada University, Hasanuddin University, Muhammadiyah University of Makassar, Muhammadiyah University of Palopo, Sebelas Maret University, Udayana University, Widya Nusantara University, SMA Progresif Bumi Shalawat, SMAS Al Izzah IIBS, SMA Negeri 5 Sukabumi, SMAN 1 Surakarta, SMAN 2 Amlapura, SMAN 8 Denpasar, SMAN 4 Denpasar, SMAN 1 Kuta Utara, SMAN 5 Denpasar, SMAN 3 Denpasar, SMAN 1 Sukawati, and SMAN 1 Ubud. Following the project presentations, the finalists participated in a city tour on July 30, visiting Tanjung Benoa Water Sport, Museum Pasifika, the Puja Mandala complex, and a Kecak Dance performance at Pandawa Beach, before concluding with the Closing Ceremony and Awarding session.
The event was officially opened by Ngakan Putu Anom Harjana, S.K.M., M.A., Advisor to the Public Health Student Association (HMKM) of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. Also in attendance were Melani Dwi Rahayu (Chairperson of HMKM FK Unud), the organizing committee, and all MPHC 2026 finalists. The culmination of MPHC 2026 is marked by the Closing Ceremony & Awarding, serving as a token of appreciation for participants who have demonstrated outstanding innovation and dedication. Through the hosting of MPHC 2026, it is hoped that innovations and collaborations will emerge from the younger generation, capable of making tangible contributions to improving public health standards in Indonesia. More than just a competition, MPHC is expected to continue serving as a space that fosters a spirit of critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.
