Study Section (Indonesian Sexual Health Survey)

The Study Section (Indonesian Sexual Health Survey) will again be conducted in Bali after previously in 2018, the CPHI FK Udayana University team was trusted to carry out this study section which was conducted to find out about the community of gay men, men who have sex with men ( MSM) and waria in Bali, including the state of sexual health among them and the use of technology to connect with each other and to seek health information. This research is a survey aimed at asking about sexual behavior, sexual health checks, relationships, consumption of alcohol and illegal drugs, as well as the use of information technology.

The study section of the collaboration between The Kirby Institute at UNSW Sydney, Australia and Udayana University, began with a meeting of Dr. Benjamin Bavinton who coordinated with the director of CPHI dr. Pande Putu Januraga, M.Kes., DrPH regarding the Study Section in 2019.

The data and information from this survey will be used as a reference in the preparation of health programs and services, especially HIV and STIs among the Gay, Waria and MSM communities in Bali.
