In order to increase understanding and practice of water emergencies and Basic Life Support, the Janar Dūta Medical Assistance Team (TBM) together with the Udayana Faculty of Medicine Research and Community Service Unit (UPPM FK UNUD) provided counseling and health services in Purwakerti Village, Abang Karangasem.

The high number of accidents in the waters is the background of the implementation of educational activities and health services by TBM Janar Dūta and UPPM FK UNUD this time in collaboration with the Bali Sehat Clinic. Located at the Jemeluk banjar hall, Purwakerti Village, Abang District, Karangasem Regency, Bali. The activity took place on November 22, 2024 and aimed to increase the understanding and skills of the community, especially the fishing community and water tour guides, in dealing with emergency situations in the water.

This education was guided by Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Pramesemara, S.Ked, M.Biomed, Sp.And, who presented material on handling water emergencies. Not only theory, the core members of TBM Janar Dūta FK UNUD continued to guide the practice of Heart Lung Resuscitation (CPR) simulations as well as evacuation of victims in water and basic life support, making this activity more interactive and applicable.

In addition to education, this activity also presented free health services, such as free blood pressure, blood sugar, uric acid, and cholesterol checks, which were welcomed enthusiastically by the community. As a form of concern, the committee also distributed groceries to local residents. The chairman of the committee, Faruq Ghani Alamsyah (Medical Study Program Student) hopes that the community service program that successfully brought 58 participants from the community can improve the preparedness of fishermen in dealing with emergencies in the water as well as provide long-term benefits for Purwakerti Village and hopefully can run continuously in the future.
