The 2nd Asia Pacific Molecular Medicine Workshop and Conference

Chonburi, Thailand, 27 August 2022

The 2nd Asia Pacific workshop and Conference on Molecular Medicine was held on 22-26 August 2022, in Bangsaen, Chon Buri Thailand with the topic "Molecular medicine for well-being for future human living". This activity is a collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (Indonesia), National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan) and the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences Burapha University (Thailand). The first seminar was held in Bali in 2019, but due to the Covid pandemic, the second activity was delayed until 2022. Organizing committee from FK Unud: Dr. dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, Dr. Ida Ayu Ika Wahyuniari and Dr. rer. grout. dr. Ni Nyoman Ayu Dewi, from NCKU: Dr. Sunny Sun, Dr. Ching-Hao Teng and Dr. Masayuki Hashimoto, as well as from Burapha University: Dr. rer. grout. Marut Tangwattanachuleeporn, Dr. Kulwara Poolpol, and Dr. Yothin Teethaisong.

On 22-23 August 2022 a bioinformatics workshop will be held at the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences Burapha University (Thailand). The topics given are 1) genomic analysis for medical research, 2) whole genome exon sequencing (Exome-Seq) data analysis, 3) single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) data analysis, 4) cancer genome database and big data processing and analysis. The workshop team are bioinformatics experts from Taiwan.

On August 24-25, 2022 the activity continued with a conference held at the Bangsaen Heritage Hotel. The opening ceremony was filled with remarks by the Chancellor of Burapha University, the Dean of the Unud Medical Faculty and the Dean of the NCKU FK then performed a traditional Thai dance. The seminar was divided into 4 sessions, namely 1) Genetics and epigenetics aspects of diseases, 2) Emerging disciplines of biomedical research, 3) Infectious Diseases, 4) Regenerative medicine and non-communicable diseases and 5) Complementary and alternative medicines. Speakers for each session consist of representatives from each university/country. The speakers from FK Unud are: Dr. dr. Made Ratna Saraswati (session 1), Prof. dr. I Made Ady Wirawan, MPH, Ph.D (session 2), Dr. dr. I Ketut Agus Somia (session 3), Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya (session 4) and Dr. dr. Agung Wiwiek Indrayani (session 5).

The activity was closed with awards for the best posters and remarks from each university representative. For the third seminar, it will be held in Taiwan.
