The Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Collaborates with PERKI Bali to Hold the Bali Cardiology Update (BAC-UP) 2026

The Bali Cardiology Update (BAC-UP) 2026 was held from June 3–6, 2026, at the Bali Sunset Road Convention Center, Denpasar, Bali. This annual scientific event, themed "Cardiology in Motion: Evolving Concepts, Emerging Therapies," is a collaboration between the Indonesian Cardiovascular Specialists Association (PERKI) Bali and the Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. BAC-UP 2026 featured a series of scientific activities, including nine workshops and ten symposia, attended by general practitioners, specialists, healthcare professionals, and participants from various healthcare institutions across Indonesia.

The event began with a workshop on June 3–4, 2026, covering various current topics in the cardiovascular field, including acute heart failure management, cardiac rehabilitation, arrhythmias, intensive cardiac care, and cardiovascular emergency management for nurses. The workshop featured experienced cardiology speakers and instructors, complemented by hands-on training sessions, case discussions, and clinical procedure demonstrations, ensuring participants gained a more practical learning experience.

Furthermore, on June 5–6, 2026, a series of symposiums discussed the latest developments in the cardiovascular field, including acute coronary syndrome, structural heart disease, arrhythmia, heart failure, peripheral artery disease, and pulmonary hypertension. The symposiums featured cardiology experts who provided evidence-based scientific updates and clinical experiences relevant to daily practice. In addition to the scientific sessions, BAC-UP 2026 also hosted the Cardiology Knowledge Competition of BAC-UP 2026, a platform for developing participants' competencies and critical thinking skills.

All activities proceeded smoothly and received high enthusiasm from the participants. Through the workshops and symposiums, participants gained knowledge updates, improved clinical skills, and had the opportunity to discuss and exchange experiences with experts in the cardiovascular field.

With the implementation of BAC-UP 2026, it is hoped that this activity will serve as a means of developing the competency of healthcare workers, improving the quality of cardiovascular services, and encouraging the implementation of the latest concepts and therapies in clinical practice to provide better outcomes for patients with cardiovascular disease.
