The Department, Specialist, and Subspecialist Study Programs of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Hold Health Education, Health Services, and Emergency Management Training in Bongkasa Pertiwi Village, Abiansemal, Badung
The Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, and the Internal Medicine Specialist and Subspecialist Study Programs, held a community service event, health education, health services, and emergency management training for tourism stakeholders in Bongkasa Pertiwi Village, Abiansemal, Badung, on Friday, January 16, 2026. This activity implemented the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, and the Head of the Abiansemal District, Badung.
The event began with a report from the Chair of the Committee, Dr. dr. I Made Pande Dwipayana, Sp.PD, K-EMD, FINASIM, followed by remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT, Subsp.Onk.Ort.R(K), and remarks from the Head of the Badung Regency Health Office, represented by Dr. Purlimaningsih, S.Ked, M.Kes, opened the event. Also in attendance were the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Dr. dr. Wiragotera, Sp.PD., K-EMD., FINASIM; the Coordinator of the Internal Medicine Subspecialty Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Dr. dr. I Made Susila Utama, Sp.PD., K-PTI, FINASIM; representatives from the Coordinator of the Internal Medicine Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, representatives from the Abiansemal Sub-district Head, the Village Head and Secretary of Bongkasa Pertiwi Village, Abiansemal, and the Head of the Abiansemal IV Community Health Center.
The outreach program included material on initial management of "drowning" and "choking," delivered by Dr. dr. The presentation was continued with a presentation on "Hypoglycemia" by Dr. dr. I Made Pande Dwipayana, Sp.PD, K-EMD., FINASIM., and concluded with a presentation on "Basic Life Support" by Dr. I Made Siswadi Semadi, M.Biomed., Sp.PD., K-EMD., FINASIM. The event also included hands-on training on first aid for drowning victims, choking victims, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for unconscious victims with cardiac and pulmonary arrest in the event of a tourist experiencing such an accident. These were demonstrated by residents of Bongkasa Pertiwi Village, Abiansemal, who work in the tourism sector.
This activity was conducted considering that Bongkasa Pertiwi Village, Abiansemal, is a tourist destination, with numerous tourism businesses such as rafting, ATP tours, swings, and restaurants. In addition, this activity also supports the Tridharma of Higher Education, especially in the field of community service in order to realize the Vision and Mission of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, the Specialist and Subspecialist Study Programs of Internal Medicine, Udayana University, in fulfilling the implementation of superior competencies in tourism medicine. This social service is also combined with the provision of health and medical services to the community in collaboration with medical and paramedical staff of the Abiansemal IV Health Center. This activity was very well received by the Abiansemal Badung District government, the village government and the community of Bongkasa Pertiwi Abiansemal Badung village.
