The highlight of World No Tobacco Day 2024
Commemorating World No Tobacco Day (HTTS) 2024, the Special Division of the Tobacco Care Student Community (DK-KMPT) of the Public Health Student Association, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (HMKM FK Unud) held community service activities at SMP Negeri 2 Mengwi targeting class VII students by presenting the theme "Raising Awareness, Building, Resilience: Advocating Against Child Tobacco Exposure". The HTTS 2024 community service activity was attended by the Chair of the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Dr. Dr. I Ketut Suarjana, S.Ked., MPH., Supervisor of DK-KMPT HMKM FK Unud, Dr. I Made Kerta Duana, SKM., MPH., Deputy Head of Curriculum for SMP N 2 Mengwi, Head of the Social and Political Department of BEM FK Unud, Head of HMKM, and Head of the DK-KMPT Division.
This community service activity aims to educate the younger generation about health problems in society caused by the bad habit of smoking. In this case, an anti-smoking cadre was also formed which is expected to be able to influence the scope of responsiveness to tobacco issues.
The series of community service activities began with an opening, followed by socialization to educate children about the dangers of tobacco, playing quizzes about tobacco, playing snakes and ladders by answering tobacco questions, selecting anti-smoking cadres and awarding the hottest class and the most active class.
