The Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held Continuing Medical Education

The Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, held the 8th Pulmonary Medical Education (PKB) in 2026 with the theme "A Holistic Approach in Respiratory Health: From Early Detection to Palliative Care." The two-day event, July 4–5, 2026, took place at the Bisma Polyclinic Hall, Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital, Denpasar.

The event began with a report from the Chair of the Committee, Dr. Putu Gita Indraswari, Sp.P., followed by remarks by the Director of Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital, Dr. The event was opened by Dr. I Gusti Ngurah Ketut Sukadarma, S.Kp., M.Kes., and officially opened by Prof. Dr. dr. I Made Muliarta, S.Ked., M.Kes., Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.

In his remarks, Prof. Muliarta expressed his appreciation to the Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, for organizing the 8th Pulmonary PKB (Public Health Training) as a scientific activity that consistently supports the improvement of healthcare workers' competencies.

"We hope this activity can serve as a platform to enrich participants' knowledge and insight regarding a holistic approach to respiratory disease management, from early detection and accurate diagnosis to palliative care. This knowledge can be implemented in daily clinical practice to improve the quality of patient care," said Prof. Muliarta.

The event consisted of eight symposia and featured 16 speakers. The various presentations addressed current issues in respiratory health, consistent with the theme. All participants enthusiastically participated in the series of activities. The event concluded with the announcement of the winners of the photo contest, the best questioner, and a door prize drawing. The event was also attended by the Coordinator of the Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine Specialist Study Program, the Head of the Department of Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine, all staff and residents of Pulmonology and Respiratory Medicine, and 87 participants from across Indonesia, including Bali, Surabaya, and Maluku.
