The Student Creativity Program in Social and Humanities Research, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Receives Funding from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology

The Undergraduate Public Health Program in the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, has achieved another milestone with the Student Creativity Program in Social and Humanities Research (PKM-RSH) being awarded funding for the 2026 Student Creativity Program (PKM) organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. The success was officially announced on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

The PKM-RSH team, whose research title was "Melukat as a Community-Based Intervention in Improving the Quality of Life of Women Living with HIV Through Social Support and Spiritual Coping," was led by Salsabila Khanita Pasha (PSSKM 2023) and four members: Ni Made Dwioktariadi (PSSKM 2023), Aryawan Triwahyudi (PSSKM 2024), Yuliana Bahri (PSSKM 2023), and Jeremias Donior Fajarni Kodi (PSSKM 2023). In implementing and developing this research, the team received mentoring and guidance from Ms. Dinar Saurmauli Lubis, SKM, MPH, PhD, who played a role in guiding the proposal development and the national-level funding selection process.

This success in securing national funding is the result of a long process the team has gone through. Their journey began with the PKM Warriors competition at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, where their proposal won third place. This achievement marked the first step toward advancing to the university-level competition through a series of coaching and selection sessions for the Udayana PKM Center 2025. Through a continuous process of proposal refinement, the team won first place in the PKM-RSH category at the Udayana University level. This achievement earned their proposal a nomination to Belmawa as one of Udayana University's representatives in the national PKM funding competition.

In the national selection, their proposal competed with 3,808 proposals from various universities across Indonesia. Thanks to hard work, dedication, and support from their supervisors and the institution, the PKM-RSH team from the Undergraduate Program in Public Health at Udayana University successfully qualified and received PKM funding in 2026.

This research explores the practice of Melukat, a Balinese local wisdom, and examines its potential as a community-based intervention to improve the quality of life for women living with HIV by strengthening social support and spiritual coping. Through this research, the team

hopes to generate scientific evidence to support the development of a more inclusive, contextual, and culturally grounded public health approach.

This achievement demonstrates the commitment of students in the Udayana University Undergraduate Public Health Program to developing innovative research that is relevant to public health issues and capable of making a real contribution to society. Hopefully, this achievement will inspire other students to continue their work and participate in the Student Creativity Program in the years to come.
