The Undergraduate Nursing and Professional Nursing Education Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Expands Nursing Students' Insights, Welcomes "Travel Health Nursing" Career Opportunities in Australia

As a commitment to improving the quality and competitiveness of graduates, the Undergraduate Nursing and Professional Nursing Education Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, once again held an enrichment guest lecture for students on November 4, 2025, with the theme "The Development of Travel Health Nursing in Australia." This event is part of the study program's ongoing efforts to provide learning experiences relevant to global needs, while also supporting the Tourism Nursing course, which continues to be developed as a program strength.

The guest lecture, moderated by Ms. Nyoman Agus Jagat Raya, M.NS., featured RN Risma Sinaga, an alumna of the Undergraduate Nursing and Professional Nursing Education Program at the Faculty of Medicine and is currently working as a Registered Nurse at Canberra Hospital, Australia. In this inspiring and interactive session, Risma shared her experiences regarding the practice, regulations, and career opportunities in Travel Health Nursing in Australia, while emphasizing the importance of cross-cultural communication, professionalism, and global adaptation for today's nurses. Her presence demonstrated the international competitiveness of Udayana University Nursing graduates and strengthened academic and professional networks in supporting the development of healthy and sustainable tourism nursing.

Meanwhile, Dr. Ns. Ni Ketut Guru Prapti, M.NS., Coordinator of the Undergraduate Nursing Study Program and Nursing Professional Education at Udayana University's Faculty of Medicine, emphasized that this activity is part of an ongoing strategy to build student capacity and strengthen the link between higher education and the global workplace. She expressed her appreciation to the initiating team, especially Dr. Ns. Kadek Eka Swedarma, M.Kes., for initiating this activity, which received high enthusiasm from students.

Through this activity, students gained not only theory but also practical insights into procedures, work culture, and concrete steps for pursuing a career in international tourism nursing.
