Udayana Public Health Guest Lecture Series 2024 Invites 2 Epidemiology Experts from Australia and England


The Master of Public Health and Bachelor of Public Health Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University is holding the Udayana Public Health Guest Lecture Series 2024 in a hybrid manner with the main location being in the Prof. Room. Followed by lecturers and students who attended offline and online via Zoom and YouTube live streaming, this guest lecture presented 2 speakers who are very competent in the field of epidemiology, namely Dr. Matthew Kelly, who is a Senior Research Fellow at the National Center for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH), College of Health and Medicine, Australian National University; and Ms. Rachel Merrick, who is a Field Epidemiology Training Program Fellow at Public Health Wales and the UK Health Security Agency. Dr. Matthew Kelly explained the comorbidity of TB with Diabetes Mellitus which could be a threat to the End-TB Program. Meanwhile Ms. Rachel Merrick explained that moving inpatients between rooms can increase the risk of Nosocomial COVID-19 Outbreaks in hospitals.


This event was opened by the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Information, FK Unud, Prof. Dr. I Md. Ady Wirawan, MPH, Ph.D, in his speech expressed his thanks to the two speakers who were willing to share their knowledge and experience in the field of epidemiology. The activity was very interactive with moderator Dr. I Nyoman Sutarsa, MPH. Ph.D, FHEA who led the discussion between participants and resource persons.
