Udayana Public Health Guest Lecture Series 2024 Invites Global Health Experts from Canada


Psychiatric Medicine Specialist Study Program, Master of Public Health, and Bachelor of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University is holding the Udayana Public Health Guest Lecture Series 2024 in a hybrid manner with the main location being in the Prof. Room. Dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah Udayana University Faculty of Medicine Building, Denpasar. (28/3/2024)


Followed by lecturers and students who attended offline and online via Zoom and YouTube live streaming, this guest lecture presented David Zakus, BSC, MES, MSc, PhD, who is a Professor of Global Health and Preventive Medicine from the University of Toronto. The topic raised in this guest lecture is related to climate change, namely "The Intersection of Global Health and the Climate Crisis". In his lecture, Prof. David explained how climate change has now become a climate crisis and what influence this change has on the health sector, especially in the fields of public health and mental health.


This event was opened by the Deputy Dean for Student Affairs and Information, FK Unud, Prof. Dr. I Md. Ady Wirawan, MPH, Ph.D., who in his speech expressed his thanks to Prof. David Zakus for sharing his knowledge and experience in the field of Global Health. The activity ran very interactively with moderator Dr. Dr. Cokorda Bagus Jaya Lesmana, Sp.KJ (K), MARS who led the discussion between participants and resource persons.


This guest lecture activity was also attended by the Coordinator of the Master of Public Health Study Program, the Coordinator of the Bachelor of Public Health Study Program and the Head of the Department of Psychiatry, then the guest lecture closed with a photo session with all the participants.
