Udayana University Medical Students Win 1st Place Nationally in Literature Review at Medical Veteran Competition 2026

Undergraduate medical students from the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, have once again achieved a proud milestone at the national level. A student team comprising Evan Nathan Sucita, Abel, and I Kadek Angga Raditya secured 1st Place Nationally in the Literature Review category at the Medical Veteran Competition 2026, organized by the Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Jakarta (FK UPNVJ).

The Medical Veteran Competition 2026 is a scientific competition that brings together medical students from various universities across Indonesia. Prior to the final round, participants underwent a selection process involving universities from different regions of the country. Following this selection stage, the top 10 teams advanced to the finals to compete in person in Jakarta.

This achievement was attained through a literature review project conducted under the guidance of dr. Ketut Tadeus Max Nurcahya Pinatih, Sp.THT-BKL. The team's work addressed an innovative topic in the medical field, specifically focusing on the development of antifibrotic therapeutic candidates for pulmonary fibrosis. Throughout the preparation process, the team received guidance and mentorship in developing the literature review, analyzing scientific evidence, and presenting their findings in a systematic and scientific manner.

The final round of the Medical Veteran Competition 2026 took place on September 18–19, 2026, in Jakarta. During the finals, the Udayana University medical student team demonstrated exceptional academic and scientific capabilities, ultimately winning 1st Place Nationally in the Literature Review category.

This success stands as a testament to the dedication, hard work, critical thinking skills, and enthusiasm of Udayana University medical students in developing their academic and scientific competencies. It also highlights the competitiveness of Udayana University students in national-level scientific competitions. This achievement is expected to serve as inspiration and motivation for other students at the Udayana University Faculty of Medicine to continue developing their potential, have the courage to participate in various scientific competitions, and produce work that contributes to the advancement of science and healthcare.
