Udayana University's Faculty of Medicine Strengthens International Partnerships through an Academic Visit with Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy

The Faculty of Medicine of Udayana University welcomed an academic delegation from Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy (CTUMP), Vietnam. The visit and academic collaboration were welcomed at the Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah Meeting Room, 4th Floor, Udayana University Faculty of Medicine Building, Jalan P.B. Sudirman, Denpasar on July 6, 2026.

The delegation, consisting of 11 representatives and led by Prof. Madya Nguyen Van Lam, MD., Ph.D., Vice Rector of CTUMP, was officially received by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT(K), along with the Undergraduate Study Program Coordinators, the Coordinator of the Information Management and Collaboration Unit (UPIKS), and the Head of the Center for Public Health Innovation (CPHI).

The meeting began with remarks from both institutions, followed by presentations on the institutional profiles of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, and Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy. The Faculty of Medicine also introduced its Center for Public Health Innovation, highlighting research, innovation, and community engagement activities that support evidence-based public health and sustainable community development.

During the discussion, the two institutions explored various potential collaborations aimed at strengthening academic partnerships. The discussion covered opportunities for student exchange programs, guest lectures, joint research, collaborative scientific publications, academic conferences and workshops, faculty development, and community service initiatives.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT(K), emphasized the commitment of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, to expanding international collaborations in education, research, and community service. He stated that such partnerships provide valuable opportunities to enhance the competencies and global perspectives of students and academic staff while simultaneously producing community-based research and innovation that has an impact and benefits society.

Both institutions welcomed the positive outcome of the meeting and expressed their commitment to continuing discussions and developing concrete collaborative programs in the near future. This visit marks an important milestone in strengthening the relationship between the Faculty of Medicine of Udayana University and Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, paving the way for continued international cooperation and global academic engagement.
