Undergraduate Medical Study Program Holds International Guest Lecture with Speakers from Curtin University


In order to improve knowledge in the field of Cannabimimetic, the Undergraduate Medical Study Program (PSSK) of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK Unud) held an International Guest Lecture with speakers from Curtin Medical School, Faculty of Health Science, Curtin University, Australia. With the theme "Indole - 2 - Carboxamides as Cannabimimetic: A link to the antitumour Efficacy", this event was held in the Prof. Dr. I.G.N.G. Ngoerah Conference Room, FK Unud Denpasar Building. Moderated by Desak Ketut Ernawati, S.Si, Apt., PGPharm., M.Pharm., Ph.D, this activity presented Dr. Hendra Gunosewoyo from Curtin Medical School, Faculty of Health Science, Curtin University, Perth, Australia. Officially opened by the Dean of FK Unud, Prof. Dr. Komang Januartha Putra Pinatih, M.Kes., on this occasion Prof. Januartha expressed his appreciation for the opportunity for international collaboration and hoped that this activity could broaden the knowledge of students and lecturers about Cannabimimetic and strengthen academic relations between FK Unud and global institutions.


Attended by lecturers and students at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, on this occasion Dr. Hendra Gunosewoyo explained about Carboxamide as a Cannabimimetic related to anti-tumor properties. With this research, it is hoped that more effective and efficient solutions will emerge in dealing with global challenges to anti-tumor substances.


The discussion that took place provided new insights for the participants about the challenges and latest developments in the treatment of tumor diseases, an important health problem in Indonesia and the world. Furthermore, this International Guest Lecture is expected to be the first step for PSSK FK Unud in strengthening international collaboration for the development of research and academic capacity.
