With a Focus on Sports Tourism, the Master’s Program in Sports Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Holds a Workshop on Strategic Planning and VMTS
The Master’s Program in Sports Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK Unud), successfully held a workshop to formulate its Strategic Plan (Renstra) and review its Vision, Mission, Objectives, and Targets (VMTS). This strategic event took place at the Prof. Dr. I Goesti Ngoerah Gde Ngoerah Meeting Room, FK Unud Building, Denpasar, on Monday, September 14, 2026.
The workshop was themed "Strengthening the Strategic Direction and Excellence of the Master’s Program in Sports Physiology through the Formulation of a Strategic Plan and VMTS that are Excellent, Adaptive, Sustainable, and Based on Sports Tourism." The agenda aimed to formulate and agree upon the strategic development direction for the program through the creation of a Strategic Plan, as well as to review and align the VMTS with the development trajectories of Udayana University and the Faculty of Medicine. The event began with a report from the Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Sports Physiology, Dr. dr. I Dewa Ayu Inten Dwi Primayanti, S.Ked., M.Biomed.(AAM), and was officially opened by the Vice Dean for General Affairs and Finance at FK Unud, Prof. Dr. dr. I Made Muliarta, S.Ked., M.Kes.
In her report, Dr. Inten highlighted the program's impressive achievements, noting that nearly 100% of graduates secure employment within less than three months. Furthermore, all faculty members holding doctoral degrees (S3) possess professional competency certifications, and the proportion of Professors is highly substantial at 28% (surpassing the institutional target). “Holding this workshop is crucial. We look forward to constructive input, guidance, and suggestions from the faculty leadership, resource persons, stakeholders, professors, alumni, and all workshop participants to refine the Strategic Plan (Renstra) and the Vision, Mission, Objectives, and Strategies (VMTS) of the Master’s Program in Sports Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University,” said Dr. Inten.
Vice Dean Prof. Muliarta emphasized the importance of formulating the Strategic Plan and VMTS for the Master’s Program in Sports Physiology. These serve as a substantial guideline for the next five years and are also administrative prerequisites for achieving accreditation. This formulation process represents the very essence of the study program. The program's success is not determined solely by its leadership or administrators; it requires the active participation of all stakeholders, alumni, and students. External input is essential to identify shortcomings that need to be addressed.
“We urge the program administrators to continue encouraging students to graduate on time. This is vital for maintaining the program's performance metrics, ensuring the quality of graduates' academic degrees, and improving student turnover to sustain new student intake capacity. We also emphasize the administrators' commitment to providing excellent service to students and remaining open to any suggestions for improving the Master’s Program in Sports Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University,” asserted Prof. Muliarta.
Moderated by Dr. Ns. Ni Made Diah Pusparini Pendet, M.Kep., Sp.Kep.M.B., the workshop featured two expert speakers:
1. Dr. dr. I Wayan Juli Sumadi, S.Ked., Sp.P.A., Subsp. M.S.(K). (Coordinator of UP3M, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University), who presented on the policies and strategic direction of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
2. Prof. Dr. dr. I Putu Gede Adiatmika, M.Kes., presented a session on development strategies for the Master’s Program in Sports Physiology and the formulation of a strategic plan centered on program excellence.
