Microbiology

The Department of Clinical Microbiology is one of the departments at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, which has the task of developing education, research and community service (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi) in the field of microbiology and infectious diseases. The Department of Clinical Microbiology teaches learning in the fields of microbiology, clinical microbiology, infectious diseases (emerging and re-emerging), infection prevention and control, antimicrode resistance and travel medicine in various study programs at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, one of which is the FK Unud Clinical Microbiology Specialist Education Program. The Department of Clinical Microbiology also participates in clinical microbiology services, the Infection Control and Prevention Program (PPI) and the Antimicrobial Resistance Control Program (PPRA) in hospitals. In supporting the Tri Dharma of Higher Education and Hospital Services, the Department of Clinical Microbiology has 3 divisions namely bacteriology division, virology division and mycology division; has 10 lecturer staff with qualifications of Professor 2 people, Head Lecturer 1 person, Lecturer 4 people, Expert Assistant 2 people and Lead Clinical Educator 1 person. All lecturers of the Department of Clinical Microbiology have Doctoral/PhD degrees and 4 staff also have the title of Consultant Clinical Microbiology Specialist (Sp.MK (K)) who participate in services in the Hospital. The Department of Clinical Microbiology together with the FK Unud Clinical Microbiology Specialist Study Program, continues to carry out research and community service activities with superior topics of Emerging and Re-Emerging infections, and continues to develop innovations and collaborations with both domestic and foreign institutions, as well as collaborating with other Departments within the FK Unud and professional organizations in this case the Indonesian Association of Clinical Microbiologists (PAMKI).
