Urology

The Department of Urological Surgery is one of the departments at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK UNUD), which is under the Department / KSM of Surgical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. KSM Urology was established on March 24, 2006. In 1989, Dr. Anak Agung Gde Oka, a staff of the Department of Surgery FK.UNUD / Sanglah Hospital was sent to undergo urology specialist education at FK UNAIR / RSUD Dr. Soetomo Surabaya and returned to the Department of Surgery FK.UNUD / Sanglah Hospital as staff of the Urology Subdivision of Surgical Sciences FK.UNUD / Sanglah Hospital in 1992. In 2003, two urology specialists were added, Dr. Suharjendro, SpU and Dr. Gede Wirya Kusuma Duarsa, M.Kes, SpU. SMF urology was finally inaugurated on March 24, 2006, so that its status became Sub.Section / SMF Urology FK.UNUD / Sanglah Hospital Sanglah Denpasar.  The Department of Urology Surgery has several divisions, each of which is actively conducting research activities. These divisions are the urology pediatrics division, Uro-Oncology Division, Women's Division, Functional, and Neurology. Research activities, both basic and clinical research, are also the main agenda that continues to be developed with innovation and collaboration with both domestic and foreign institutions. In addition, community service activities are also routinely carried out together with other departments at FK UNUD and with the Bali Branch of the Association of Urologists.
