Local Government Commitment in Prevention & Control of Stunting in Trenggalek Regency

Regarding the commitment to reduce stunting in Bondowoso Regency, GAIN Indonesia together with the Center for Public Health Innovation (CPHI) of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University facilitated the Development of an Evidence-Based Program (PBB) based on the results of the 10-Step Assessment to Successful Breastfeeding (LMKM).

Trenggalek 20-21 May 2019- Trenggalek Regency with a low percentage of Early Breastfeeding Initiation (IMD) in health care facilities is trying to plan programs that focus on IMD in health services going forward. The aspiration to become an SDGs Regency is also the main goal in implementing improvements and maximizing maternal and child care programs in hospitals.

The Evidence-Based Programming (PBB) activity in Trenggalek Regency was carried out at the Trenggalek Regency Bappeda Office.

The PBB was attended by Bappeda, Bondowoso District Health Office, district coordinator of GAIN Indonesia, representatives of Independent Practice Midwives, Communications and Informatics Service, Social Service, Public Health Centers and Hospitals in Probolinggo District.

The Center for Public Health Innovation (CPHI) team at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University facilitated the preparation of an Evidence-Based Program (PBB) using the Bottle Neck Analysis method which analyzed the obstacles to implementing 10 LMKMs and the Stunting Assessment last month carried out by a team of researchers and local enumerators.

The things that resulted in the first day of the workshop were blockages or sources of problems that Trenggalek Regency faced related to the implementation of 10 LMKMs, the root causes of the problems from the 10 steps in the components of 10 LMKM Strategies that will be carried out in the future, the right executor is responsible responsible and involved in it to the planning of the allocation of funds that will support.

The first day's activity was enthusiastically welcomed by the participants, who were attended by various related OPDs and also health service facilities in Trenggalek Regency. The participants discussed with each other about future strategies and plans to strengthen policies in order to achieve the expectations of all parties towards the national target which in 2019 can achieve the SDGs districts.

While on the second day focusing on stunting prevention and control strategies in Trenggalek Regency, producing solutions related to strategies to deal with the widespread use of formula milk in the community by implementing a letter of agreement from health workers with the mother of the child if formula milk is really needed based on a prescription from a doctor. health care workers. This refers to one of the experiences of the Trenggalek Regency Kominfo Service. In addition, strategies will be increasingly promoted to maximize the class of prospective brides considering that early marriage is still quite high in Trenggalek Regency.

The related OPDs and health service facilities are committed to jointly formulating a better program in the future to prevent and tackle stunting in Trenggalek Regency.
