The 3rd series of alcohol inhalation webinar has been held: Safety, regulatory and ethical aspects. The speakers in the 3rd series this time are:

This webinar is a collaboration between the Department of Pharmacology and Therapy and the Department of Public Health and Preventive Medicine supported by various professional organizations.

The webinar was opened by the Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, FK Unud Prof.Dr.dr. AA Wiradewi Lestari, S.Ked., SpPK(K) and was attended by 479 participants via Webex and Youtube.

In series 3 of the Alcohol Inhalation Webinar this time the emphasis is on aspects of health services and public health. The take home message from this series 3 webinar is that in terms of regulations, the government encourages innovation, one of which is innovation in the field of traditional medicine. scientific studies that underlie aspects of quality, efficacy and safety as well as distribution permits. However, in reality, scientific studies or scientific evidence from both clinical and public health aspects related to inhalation alcohol therapy in the treatment of covid 19 have not been carried out (although several studies have examined the effects of alcohol use on other diseases, but it ranges from good and bad effects of alcohol depending on the dose). , duration, alcohol purity, route of administration and patient condition); so that IDI expressly conveys that it is important for health services to follow professional ethics where medical decisions must be based on the best scientific evidence and this must be overseen primarily by the government as a regulator and leader to support academics in carrying out studies both from a clinical and community perspective related to therapy. Inhalation of alcohol in the handling of Covid-19 and at the same time the government is important to communicate and provide accurate and balanced information to the public, not only in terms of benefits but in terms of side effects and safety of inhalation alcohol therapy.
