Accelerating Educational Quality: Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist Program at FK Unud Hosts Central College Monitoring and Evaluation Visit

The Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Specialist Study Program at the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK Unud), hosted a visit from the Educational Institution Development Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) Team representing the College of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery. This strategic activity took place in the Dr. A.A. Made Djelantik Room at the FK Unud building in Denpasar (August 20, 2026).

The visit was conducted in alignment with the duties and functions of the College’s Division 4 (Quality and Accreditation)—specifically to monitor the learning process, develop new study programs, and provide continuous guidance to educational institutions. This monitoring and evaluation session featured five experts from the Development Team:

1. Dr. dr. Lisa Hasibuan, Sp.B.P.R.E., Subsp.L.B.L.(K) (Chair of the College)

2. Dr. dr. Almahitta Cintami Putri, Sp.B.P.R.E., Subsp.L.B.L.(K) (Secretary of the College)

3. Prof. Dr. dr. David S. Perdanakusuma, Sp.B.P.R.E., Subsp.E.L.(K) (Head of Division 4: Quality and Accreditation)

4. Dr. dr. Hardi Siswo Soedjana, Sp.B.P.R.E., Subsp.E.L.(K) (Member of Division 4: Quality and Accreditation)

5. dr. Najatullah, Sp.B.P.R.E., Subsp.M.O.(K) (Member of Division 1: Evaluation and Examination)

The event began with opening remarks from the Coordinator of the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Study Program at FK Unud, Dr. dr. Agus Roy Rusly Hariantana Hamid, Sp.B.P.R.E., Subsp.T(K), together with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (FK Unud), Prof. Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.OT., Subsp.Onk.Ort.R(K).

In his remarks, the Dean of FK Unud expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the College (specialty board) for their significant attention and for making this second visit. This guidance is considered invaluable for meeting accreditation criteria and ensuring that medical education standards are optimally fulfilled. He also highlighted the challenge of meeting full-time faculty quotas amidst the government's push to increase the intake of specialist trainees—a situation requiring collaborative advocacy among the university, the College, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education.

"While the curriculum and facilities—such as the aesthetic wellness center of excellence at Unud Hospital—are already well-prepared, we must continue to strengthen our faculty and teaching staff. We hope that all the input received will propel this study program to become a leading reference capable of producing top-quality specialist physicians," emphasized Prof. Eka.

Following the opening ceremony, the event proceeded with a presentation by the Study Program Coordinator regarding follow-up actions based on previous monitoring results, followed by an interactive discussion session with the College team concerning future recommendations. The agenda was also attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning, the Coordinator of the Quality Assurance and Education Development Unit (UP3M), the Coordinator of the Education Quality Improvement Unit (KP3), and the entire academic community of the relevant study program.
