Accelerating the Establishment of New Study Programs: FK Unud Hosts and Mentors YARSI Mataram Health Institute
The Faculty of Medicine at Udayana University (FK Unud) hosted a strategic visit from the YARSI Mataram Health Institute. The in-person meeting took place in the Dean's Meeting Room on the third floor of the FK Unud building in Denpasar on Thursday, August 20, 2026. This visit was conducted to provide intensive guidance regarding the establishment of new study programs: the Bachelor of Medicine and the Medical Profession programs.
The delegation from the YARSI Mataram Health Institute was led by its Rector, Dr. Zul Hendry, S.Kep., Ners., M.Kep., and was warmly welcomed by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Planning at FK Unud, Prof. Dr. I Made Ady Wirawan, MPH., Ph.D. "After meeting online several times, today we are able to meet in person to discuss in greater detail how we can provide assistance and facilitation," said Prof. Ady in his opening remarks.
He added that the Faculty of Medicine at Udayana University (FK Unud) is committed to facilitating the team from YARSI Mataram Institute of Health in presenting the latest developments, field dynamics, and the institution's readiness regarding the establishment of the Undergraduate Medicine and Medical Profession study programs.
The meeting was attended by the Vice Rector II of YARSI Mataram Institute of Health, Dr. Idyatul Hasanah, S.Kep., Ners., M.Kep., and the Foundation Supervisor, Dr. dr. Ahmad Taufik, Sp.OT. Meanwhile, representatives from FK Unud included the Coordinator of the Information Management and Cooperation Unit (UPIKS), Dr. dr. Ida Ayu Ika Wahyuniari, S.Ked., M.Kes.; the Coordinator of the Development, Learning, and Quality Assurance Unit (UP3M), Dr. dr. I Wayan Juli Sumadi, S.Ked., Sp.P.A., Subsp.M.S.(K).; and the coordinators of the assistance team for the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine and Medical Specialist/Sub-specialist Education Study Programs (both hospital-based and university-based).
Through this institutional cooperation and assistance program, FK Unud is fully committed to guiding and facilitating YARSI Mataram Institute of Health to ensure that the entire governance process for establishing the new study programs proceeds smoothly and in accordance with national quality standards for medical education.
