Community Service in the framework of the 58th FK BK anniversary event series

The Family Board of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University held a Community Service in the framework of the 58th FK BK anniversary event in the form of a clean action on the Mertasari beach in Sanur and its surroundings with the theme "Towards a Plastic-Free Bali". This beach clean-up action was attended by the entire academic community with a total of 2183 people, ranging from all undergraduate study program students, specialist study programs, master study programs, doctoral study programs, educators and education staff. This activity was also attended by the Dean of Medical Faculty, Deputy Deans, Study Program Coordinators, Heads of Departments, Heads of Units and also invited the Deans of Unud, the Head of Sanur Kauh Village, and religious leaders (stakeholders) of temples around Mertasari beach. The event began with an opening ceremony with remarks from the chairman of the committee, the head of the village of Sanur Kauh and the Dean of the FK at the same time opening the event and making donations in the form of trash cans and broom sticks to the village head and religious leaders (stakeholders). This beach clean-up action was carried out at four points that had previously been divided by the committee. At the end of the activity, a joint prayer was held at the Dalem Pengmbak Temple, Sanur.

Through this cleaning action, Prof. I Ketut Suyasa, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, said that his party is committed to reducing the use of single-use plastics, as mandated by the Bali Provincial Government. This action is a medium to educate the academic community in maintaining cleanliness and maintaining ties of friendship.
This action was carried out by cleaning the Mertasari Beach area of Sanur and donating cleaning equipment to Dalem Pengmbak Temple, Mertasari Temple, Cemara Geseng Temple, Dalem Semawa Temple, and the beach area.
