The Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, successfully held its continuing medical education (CME) at the Prime Plaza Hotel, Sanur, Denpasar, on April 12, 2026. This CPD is a comprehensive series of scientific activities in the management of orthopedic and traumatology emergencies.
The event began with a kecak dance performance by a resident of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist Study Program, followed by a report from the Chair of the Organizing Committee, Dr. Nyoman Gede Bimantara, Sp.OT., Subsp.Onk.Ort.R(K), followed by remarks from the Coordinator of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Specialist Study Program, Dr. dr. IGN Wien Aryana, Sp.OT., Subsp.CO(K)., and the Head of the Orthopedics and Traumatology Department, Dr. dr. Made Bramantya Karna, Sp.O.T., Subsp.T.L.B.M(K), Chair of the Bali Association of Indonesian Doctors (PABOI), Dr. I Wayan Suryanto Dusak, Sp.OT., Subsp.P.L(K), Chair of the Bali Regional Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI); Prof. Dr. dr. I Made Sudarmaja, M.Kes., President Director of Prof. I G.N.G. Ngoerah General Hospital, represented by Mrs. Ken Wirianti; and Prof. Dr. dr. I Gede Eka Wiratnaya, Sp.O.T., Subsp.Onk.Ort.R(K) Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University.
Following the opening ceremony, the event continued with scientific presentations by:

Reading the Bones: A Systematic Guide to Interpreting Orthopedic Trauma X-rays (Workshop)., Dr. Dr. Cokorda Gde Oka Dharmayuda, Sp.O.T., Subsp.P.L(K), FICS, AIFO-K, MARS, with material on Pelvic Injury in the Golden Hour: From Scene to Definitive Care., Dr. Dr. Anak Agung Gde Yuda Asmara, Sp.O.T., Subsp.T.L.B.M(K), with material: Hand on the Edge: Comprehensive Approach to Hand Emergencies and Compartment Syndrome., dr. Made Agus Maharjana, Sp.OT., Subsp.A(K) with material on Pediatric Orthopedic Emergency: Pearls and Pitfalls., dr. I. B. G. Arimbawa, Sp.OT., Subsp.O.T.B(K), with material on Recognizing Spinal Trauma in Daily Practice, Red Flags and Referral Timing., dr. Made Dwi Puja Setiawan, Sp.K.F.R., presented the topic "Beyond the Fixation: The Critical Role of Early Rehabilitation in Emergency Orthopedic Care."
The event continued with an interactive workshop on:
• Casting, splinting, and immobilization in Orthopedic and Traumatology cases
• Pelvic binder application and mobilization of patients with pelvic and acetabular fractures
• Cervical collar application and mobilization of patients with spinal trauma
Attended by participants from various backgrounds, ranging from pre-clinical students to orthopedic surgeons, the event took place in a dynamic, interactive, and enthusiastic atmosphere. The high level of enthusiasm during the discussion and workshop sessions reflected a shared commitment to improving competency in handling orthopedic emergency cases.
