Cultivating Future Leaders: BEM FK Unud Hosts "Magnesia 2026" Management and Leadership Training

The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University (BEM FK Unud), has once again held its annual event, the Management and Leadership Basic Training (Magnesia) 2026. This foundational Student Management Skills Training (LKMM) program was conducted online, with the primary hub located in the fourth-floor lecture hall of the Faculty of Medicine building at the Udayana University Sudirman Campus, Denpasar, on Saturday, October 17, 2026.

The opening ceremony began with a report from the organizing committee chair, followed by remarks from the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, Prof. dr. I Made Ady Wirawan, S.Ked., M.P.H., Ph.D. The event was officially inaugurated through a symbolic presentation of a *kayon* (a traditional Javanese puppet element representing the beginning of a story) to representatives of the organizing committee and the participants.

This year, Magnesia 2026 adopted the philosophical theme, "Empowered to Reform, United to Transform." The program was specifically designed as an introductory development platform for *Calon Kamkesyana*—a term for the young academic community members of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University. It aims to instill a profound understanding of modern organizational dynamics, hone leadership potential, and foster a critical awareness of the strategic role students play in driving positive change within society.

Through a series of interactive and participatory sessions and discussions, Magnesia 2026 seeks to shape the character of these *Calon Kamkesyana*—ensuring they become critical, collaborative, adaptive, and responsible individuals. Equipped with these qualities, these young leaders are expected to be prepared to make tangible contributions, both within the campus environment and toward the advancement of the broader community. This opening event was attended—both in person and virtually—by the Chair of the Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Medicine at Udayana University (FK Unud), the faculty advisor for the BEM, and all members of the BEM’s executive board.
