Dinner Banquet welcomes the delegates of the Indonesian International Medical Olympiad (IMO) 2019

Bali Governor Wayan Koster welcomed the 2019 Indonesian International Medical Olympiad (IMO) delegates at a Dinner which was held at the Governor's Office, Jaya Sabha, Denpasar, Wednesday (16/10/2019) night.

The event was attended by the Chancellor of Udayana University, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University and his staff, representatives of the National Narcotics Agency of Bali Province, the Chairman of the Association of Indonesian Medical Education Institutions (AIPKI), the Secretary General of the Indonesian Medical Student Senate Association and the heads of institutions within the Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University, the Committee, IMO 2019 delegates and participants.

Governor Wayan Koster expressed his appreciation because Bali was chosen as the host of the 2019 IMO event where this activity was the 10th but this was the first time it was held in the province of Bali with Udayana University as the host. The Governor welcomed this activity because he saw firsthand the participants from the Medical Student Executive Board from all over Indonesia.

The Governor hopes that the activities can run smoothly, comfortably, safely and successfully. The governor also invited all participants present to jointly maintain the conduciveness of the country where on October 20 the inauguration of the elected President and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia will be held.

While the Chancellor of Unud Prof. AA Raka Sudewi expressed his appreciation to the Governor of Bali who was willing to welcome students from the Faculty of Medicine throughout Indonesia and also students from abroad who had the opportunity this time to take part in the 2019 Indonesian International Medical Olympiad (IMO) where the Faculty of Medicine Unud was the host.

Furthermore, the Chancellor said that IMO 2019 was a medical science competition which was participated by 283 teams with a total of 566 participants from 55 universities in Indonesia. IMO 2019 aims to improve the competence of medical students and increase knowledge, insight, skills and professional attitudes around the world of health through various competitions.

The Chancellor hopes that the competition will run smoothly, and can be beneficial for the Indonesian nation and state.
