Face-to-face Learning Amid Concerns about the Omicron Hazard, MIKM FK UNUD Students Conduct a Socialization of Healthy School Guidelines

Students of the Masters in Public Health Sciences FK UNUD class XII Academic Year 2021/2022, Monday, January 3rd 2022 held a Community Service Activity in the form of "Healthy School Socialization for Face-to-Face Learning Activities during the COVID-19 Pandemic" at SD Negeri 5 Padangsambian. The activity aims to promote and improve the quality of face-to-face learning with good health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic in schools.
This activity involved all elementary schools that are members of the Gugus I Gusti Ngurah Rai Denpasar Barat, also present on this occasion was the Study Program Coordinator of the MIKM FK UNUD, Prof. dr. Pande Putu Januraga, M.Kes, DrPH along with several MIKM lecturers. In his speech Prof. Pande expressed his gratitude to SDN 5 Padangsambian for facilitating MIKM class XIII students to carry out service activities at school. Service activities are one of the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi that must be carried out in addition to the aspects of education and research. Furthermore, he also conveyed the importance of protocols and guidelines in the implementation of face-to-face learning activities in schools during the COVID-19 pandemic so that there was no increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in children, as happened in Europe due to euphoria due to vaccination coverage that was considered already high and the importance of staying alert to the Omicron variant.
Meanwhile, the Principal of SD Negeri 5 Padangsambian warmly welcomes and is grateful that his school has been trusted to be a service location and serve as a model for healthy schools and ideal for face-to-face learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. "We hope that service activities like this can also be carried out in other schools to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 to students.” said I Made Saptudiarta, S.Pd as Principal of SD Negeri 5 Padangsambian.
It can be reported that all students of MIKM class XIII as many as 48 people were actively involved in this activity starting from the preparation until the peak event of the socialization of guidelines and video screening of Healthy Schools for Limited Face-to-face Learning in Elementary Schools. On this occasion, souvenirs in the form of Service Activity Plaques and assistance in the form of educational media, hand sanitizers and children's medical masks to support face-to-face learning activities at school were also handed over to the school. "We hope that what we provide can be useful for the school and we apologize if there are things that are not pleasing during our service activities at this school," said dr. I Made Dwi Ariawan as Chair of the XIII MIKM Community Service Activities.
